Kings Langley is a wonderful village with a long and rich history and it has many volunteers from all walks of life, making our village a great place to live, work and play.
Parish councillors are chosen every 4 years. In Kings Langley, it is quite rare for parish council elections to take place as the seats are not contested, which means in simple terms, that only one person is standing for that seat, so there is no competition, so it is the same councillor’s session after session.

Kings Langley Parish Council has ten seats. These are divided into 3 Wards: North, Central and South.
All seats are up for election.
North Ward: 2 Seats
Central Ward: 2 Seats
South Ward: 6 Seats

Kings Langley Parish Councillor Elections
4th May 2023
To become a Parish Councillor is easy.
You may become a Parish Councillor through a Political Party (contact your local Political Party Branch for further information)
or you can stand as
an Independent candidate, which is now on the rise and is happening all over the nation.

Being Independent does not mean that you are rejecting your own political belief, quite the contrary, it allows you to be more about what you believe in, to be independent of mind. Nash Mills Parish for example is a very successful, progressive and forward-thinking Parish Council and is 100% Independent councillors.

Parish Councillors can get involved in various issues and projects that matter to residents, such as

Local environment
protecting and enhancing our natural and historical beauty of the village, for example through promoting sustainability and green initiatives, focusing on public spaces and amenities.
Green Belt Protection
The majority of Kings Langley residents are against Green Belt development. This is a big concern and one which has a large following and also some councillors are members of Green Belt Matters, a local group which also has support of Sir Mike Penning MP.
Planning and Licencing Committee
The Parish Council, whilst has limited powers, does get view and comment on planning applications and licencing applications. A very important committee which meets every two weeks on average.
Leisure and recreation
Being a source of change and support, in developing our sports, arts, and cultural activities, encouraging social inclusion and wellbeing, events and festivals.
Traffic issues
Being a voice for addressing road safety and congestion problems, advocating for better public transport and cycling facilities, better safer pathways and easier accessibility for all

This is your chance to make a positive impact on our village and have fun along the way. Please don't hesitate to make a difference.
